I'm liking the additional detail.
Question: How will photo sizing work? Does the site automatically fit the photo to the designated hole?
Question: In the drop-down headers (news, blogs, etc.) how many entries can go inot those pull-downs? Is there a number you would consider to be optimal?
Question: How does a blog entry look or function differently from a news story or blog post?

Hi all, please see the updated v1.7 attached. We've added several new pages and simplified some views which we think are some nice improvements. In regard to some of the questions posted at #3
Photo-sizing - yes, the site will resize photos automatically to fit a slot, but Jeff can weigh in on whether or not those photos are resized and also optimized.
Drop Down Headers - the intent is for there to be a manageable amount of categories in there but we would suggest in the 5-9 range. Currently, we aren't planning on having sub-levels in those menus so it all items will be on the same level.
Blog Entry Difference - Blog entries will be marked as such in the header and have a slightly different by-line, but look similar to stories in layout and commenting features.

Looking good -- two questions --
"Hot news" -- This is a feature question I should have asked earlier : will Hot News be automatic based on last entries; most entries; etc. or will it be pickable by a community manager/administrator to drive a particular topic? (I like the second, personally but either way)
In the initial design, there were a couple of options for the front depending on the content. Are those still going to be available, and this is simply showing one view?

Each site can be easily configured to show different widgets. The Hot Topics widget may not make it into the first release, but it will have several different options and be easily customizable.
